The Flower Path Pollinator Initiative is an indigenous-led effort across an expanding number of Northern New Mexico sites dedicated to collecting, growing, and sharing pollinator-friendly and culturally-relevant seeds in response to devastating wildfires and floods. With increasingly erratic weather patterns, growing and sharing seed across New Mexico’s varying elevations and ecosystems is critical for building long-term resilience. The initiative supports climate-adaptive stewardship founded in community participation and regenerative ancestral knowledge. Its goal is to inspire intergenerational collaboration and communities of practice, contributing to the continuum of place-based adaptive knowledge and stewardship, and ensuring access to locally grown seeds for future generations.
